I was born in the small town of Opelousas, LA in 1980, raised in a conservative, Christian household, and I was still single digits in age when I told my mom that I was going to move away when I first had the chance.

After doing some travel right out of high school, I was pushed into joining the US Air Force by my father, and ended up in Fairborn, OH as a result. It was there that I started learning how to be an adult, but I was also exposed to so many things that would change my life forever. Truly, one of the most critical exposures was my discovery (and frequent attendance thereafter) of Club 1470 in Dayton, OH, in 2001. It was a gay bar downstairs and a goth club upstairs on Saturday nights, and held drag shows on some nights during the week. There, I not only discovered how elating it was to dress femme, but also how exciting it was to kiss guys.

My "goth phase" endured between the ages of 19 to 27. While I still dressed differently than other male-presenting people, the changes wrought upon my body with age seemed to strip away my capacity to feel femme when I put on makeup. From this point, there would fester a sadness that I could not name until the pandemic in 2020, 13 years later. When I finally figured out that I'm a transgender woman, I had already been identifying as nonbinary for several years.

As of 2022, I've been living in Virginia and hope to put down roots somewhere in the DMV.
